What is CFU?
CFU stands for colony forming unit, and is used to quantify how many bacteria in probiotics are capable of dividing and forming colonies. We know that probiotic bacteria are alive and active if they are able to divide and form these colonies.
Why does the new formula have 8 billion CFU?
As a general rule, a probiotic product should provide at least 1 billion CFU. But the latest research indicates that the greatest benefits are achieved with a daily dose between 5 billion and 10 billion. Our scientists researched the specific strains used in our proprietary formula and determined the optimal amount of each strain based on clinical research, ensuring that both the total CFU for the product, and the amounts for each strain are optimised.
Why have we added zinc?
Zinc has been added to Forever Active Pro-B to compliment and enhance the benefits of the product, and it plays a role in many bodily functions. Zinc supports the immune system, and contributes to normal cognitive function, metabolism and the maintenance of normal bones, hair, skin, nails and vision. It is also an antioxidant and protects the cells from oxidative stress.
What is unique about how our probiotics are manufactured?
Forever Living’s probiotic manufacturing partner uses the latest technology to manufacture each of the probiotic raw materials, and throughout the manufacturing process. Using modern cryo technology, the strains are taken to a deep state of dormancy to protect the bacteria from being activated until they reach the digestive tract. Subsequent stages of the manufacturing process are conducted under extremely low humidity levels to prevent moisture from being reintroduced. The strains are blended and encapsulated under good manufacturing practice in clean room facilities that are class ISO 8. The facility is ISO 9001 Certified and GMP Certified. They also do a verification of cell count, and have a microbial analysis done on the finished product.
Why is Forever Active Pro-B in a vial?
Many probiotic bacteria are naturally sensitive to heat and moisture. Our new packaging uses the latest in engineering technology (Active Vial) to ensure maximum shelf-life of our probiotics. The bottle is a vial that includes a flip-top for an easy open/close “click” and moisture-tight, spill-proof sealing. It also includes an engineered sleeve built into the wall of the bottle to control moisture absorption and protect the strains throughout the shelf life. Instead of the typical moisture sachet that absorbs moisture once it’s already come into the bottle, this prevents moisture from even entering the bottle, stopping moisture in its tracks - keeping the bottle a more stable environment to ensure maximum CFU.
What is the capsule made of?
The capsule is a vegetarian HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) hard-shell capsule made from plants. With a vegetarian capsule, the product contains no major allergens (no soy, no dairy, no fish).
