Last month, as a Forever family we worked together on our fitness and health, with a strong focus on our incredible C9 which, after weeks of lockdown, was a chance for people to really push themselves back into gear with getting active. But physical health is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to looking and feeling better. With life slowly beginning to get back on track for being a bit more ‘normal’ (whatever our new normal looks like), we know that people are keen to get their skin health in tip-top shape, too!
Whether you’ve been spending more time on your skincare during lockdown, or have taken more of a “well, if nobody’s seeing me, does it really even matter?” approach, summer is finally here, and there’s never a better time to sort out your skincare than when the sun is shining!
We have three main skincare ranges at Forever, all of which can be mixed and matched into a personal skincare regime which suits you. This blog post takes a deep dive into how you can figure out your skincare needs and address them with a unique routine.
Dry and ageing skin
Dry skin can be a cause of genetics, environmental factors, or it can come later in life as your skin begins to age, and its moisture is lost. Typically, people with a dry skin type might find that they have:
A dull, rough complexion
Red, flaky or itchy patches of skin
More visible lines and wrinkles
Our Infinite by Forever Advanced Skincare System has been designed specifically for dry and ageing skin. With three topical products and our first exclusive beauty supplement, you can target ageing from the inside out and the outside in.
Hydrating Cleanser is full of potent, naturally derived ingredients like apple extract, apple amino acid and cocoa fatty acids that increase skin hydration and gently wash away dirt and oil without drying.
Firming Serum targets the signs of ageing with a clinically proven three-amino acid peptide that complements the natural process of skin to increase firmness and to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
With over fifteen skin conditioning ingredients, Restoring Crème absorbs fast to leave skin feeling moisturised and smooth.
In our Firming Complex we’ve combined vitamin C to help with healthy collagen formation in the skin, biotin to maintain healthy hair and skin and we’ve even added extra marine collagen.
Want to go one step further and bring more hydration to your dry or ageing skin? Give some of these incredible Targeted skincare products a try.
Thanks to peptide technology, collagen and other powerful ingredients, Awakening Eye Cream smooths and firms delicate under-eye skin to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness.
Dry skin can sometimes be flaky. Buff away those dead skin cells once a week with Smoothing Exfoliator to reveal silky soft skin beneath. Lemon essential oil in this product also acts as a rich moisturiser to hydrate that newly revealed skin.
The Aloe Bio-Cellulose Mask is a luxury treat that can rejuvenate dull skin, combat the signs of ageing and reduce the appearance of redness. Its bio-cellulose fibres fit the contours of your face to deeply moisturise and to ensure every impressive botanical penetrates the fine lines and wrinkles traditional sheet masks fail to reach.
Combination and oily skin
Oily skin is common in teenagers as the body goes through a lot of hormonal changes and imbalances, but this skin type can continue into adulthood, characterised by shiny skin which feels wet to the touch. Combination skin is actually a very common skin type in people of all ages! This is characterised by being dry in some areas (such as the cheeks) and oily in others (usually the T-Zone, which is your forehead, nose and chin). Due to this imbalance, people can become frustrated with knowing how best to treat it, as what works for dry skin will leave your oilier patches feeling greasy, but what works for oily skin will strip your dry patches.
Our Sonya Daily Skincare Kit has been specifically designed for combination or oily skin, with a revolutionary gel-based system designed to deliver botanicals exactly where the skin needs them most.
The Sonya Refreshing Gel Cleanser contains aloe gel and natural cleansers to help remove dead cells, dirt and makeup gently.
Sonya Illuminating Gel restores skin’s natural brilliance and gives your skin a natural glow, thanks to the encapsulated peptides in the quick-absorbing gel.
Leave the Sonya Refining Gel Mask on overnight to allow it to support balance by controlling oil and brightening the appearance of skin.
Filled with lush botanicals and powerful ingredients, Sonya Soothing Gel Moisturizer breaks down into a hydra-infused carrier leaving behind a moist and dewy complexion.
Want to go one step further and bring more balance to your combination or oily skin? Give some of these incredible Targeted skincare products a try.
Follow your cleanser with Balancing Toner, a refreshing toner designed to remove excess dirt, minimise the appearance of pores and hydrate the skin before moisturising.
Try using our Mask Powder mixed with Aloe Activator on your oilier patches to cleanse your pores, absorb excess oil and leave your skin feeling refreshed. Remember that you can multi-mask if you need to, so if your dry patches need hydration you can apply Sonya Refining Gel Mask, or Forever Marine Mask and apply different products to the parts of your skin which need them most.
Suncare
Remember that all skin types need sun protection. Our Protecting Day Lotion has a light, everyday texture and SPF 20, so it works well as a daily moisturiser to protect your skin from harmful UV rays without feeling greasy on the skin. We also have our Aloe Sunscreen, which many of you have been expressing your love for on our Facebook page (see some of our favourite pictures below!). Aloe Sunscreen is water resistant, reef safe and contains SPF 30 to help keep you and your family protected.
